Character Introduction
Piloswine is an Ice & Ground Pokémon which evolves from Swinub. It is vulnerable to Fighting, Steel, Fire, Water and Grass moves. Piloswine's strongest moveset is Ice Shard & Avalanche and it has a Max CP of 2,345. Piloswine evolves into Mamoswine.
Piloswine, equipped with a thick coat, braves freezing cold, utilizing its tusks to unearth buried food beneath ice-covered terrain.
PVP Mode Explanatory Notes
PvP Moveset Explanation
Powder Snow works well with Piloswine due to its 2 DPT (Damage Per Turn) and 4 EPT (Energy Per Turn). Ice Shard drops a bit of energy generation for more consistent damage output, making it easier to farm down opponents.
This lets it charge up Avalanche (90 Power/45 Energy) and Stone Edge (100 Power/55 Energy) very quickly, both of which are objectively great attacks. However, Avalanche is the real super-star of this set, sporting one of the highest Power:Energy ratios in the game while still coming off of STAB and coming out pretty fast. Stone Edge is included just for coverage.
PvP Rating Explanation
Fun fact: Piloswine actually out-performs Mamoswine in the Great League due to having a virtually identical moveset and a better stat build at or below 1500 CP. Here, it can take down huge threats such as Dragonite, Lugia, and Altaria with its icy powers. However, while its typing is offensively great, it also leaves it with a laundry list of weaknesses that make it easily picked off by many common Pokemon. It's probably to look into stronger Ice-Types before settling on Piloswine, but it can perform with a bit of support.
Once again, Piloswine's stats make it better suited to the CP cap than Mamoswine, but both of them share many of the same issues. Here, Piloswine can beat both formes of Giratina in a 1v1 match, though most of those wins are a bit narrow. It has to beware of Grass, Water and Steel however. Again; it needs a bit of support to be effective, but Piloswine is a viable Pokemon in the league.
