Character Introduction
Lairon is a Steel & Rock Pokémon which evolves from Aron. It is vulnerable to Fighting, Ground and Water moves. Lairon's strongest moveset is Metal Claw & Heavy Slam and it has a Max CP of 2,056. Lairon evolves into Aggron.
Lairon hardens its steel body by guzzling nutrient-rich mineral springwater, preferring to build its nest close to these beneficial springs.

PVP Mode Explanatory Notes
PvP Moveset Explanation
Metal Claw is the superior fast move of choice, though its Steel typing isn't as valuable offensively. Iron Tail is inferior.
Body Slam offers a good amount of neutral coverage for its low energy cost, and can be used frequently. Rock Slide takes advantage of STAB to provide strong damage output as well as useful coverage. The addition of Rock Tomb following the GBL Season 10 update is unimpressive, as its poor damage output and high energy cost discourages its use despite its new debuff utility.
PvP Rating Explanation
Lairon competes with several other "Steel Tanks" in Great League, as a relatively bulky Pokemon with a plethora of resistances. Unlike its competitors, Lairon suffers from inferior bulk and a less impressive moveset, with neither fast energy generation nor high damage output. With both its fast moves being Steel type, Lairon's coverage is also somewhat less preferable, making it more niche at best.
With a max CP of 2056, Lairon lacks sufficient stats to compete well in Ultra League. Its typing and moveset is still enough to handle popular Fairy-types, but other Pokemon can fulfill this role a lot better.
At least consider fully evolved Pokemon if you're interested in this league.
